Middle Tennessee State University Athletics says its men’s tennis team will host the Middle Tennessee Invite in Murfreesboro from Oct. 16 through Oct. 18, bringing players from Belmont, UAB, Louisville and Alabama to campus. The announcement describes this as MTSU’s first of two on-campus events in fall 2026.
MTSU Athletics says play starts Friday at 2 p.m. against UAB, continues Saturday at 10 a.m. against Belmont, and concludes Sunday at 10 a.m. with two players each from Louisville and Alabama. The announcement does not identify a specific venue. Admission is free, and matches will be streamed live, with a link to be made available; results are to be posted on goblueraiders.com at the end of each match day.
According to the announcement, matches will begin with a six-game doubles set, followed by best-of-three-set singles. The invite is the first time MTSU has hosted competitive tennis since the 2025 Conference USA Championship, which the university says its team won by beating Liberty, 4-2.
MTSU Athletics says its players had an 11-7 singles record and 4-3 doubles record at the Ohio Valley regional competition last weekend. The announcement also says the Blue Raiders last played UAB on Jan. 23, Louisville on Feb. 13, and Belmont on March 15, 2012; Alabama’s last meeting with MTSU was March 19, 2009.
