Middle Tennessee State University recording industry students can pursue professional audio certifications through coursework on the Murfreesboro campus, according to an Oct. 29 announcement from MTSU.

The university said the partnership with L-Acoustics, a professional audio technology company, will integrate training and certification into the department’s curriculum at no additional certification cost to students. The program begins with the company’s System and Workflow certification in RIM 4335 Advanced Sound Reinforcement, MTSU said.

Students will use L-Acoustics training materials, an education platform and software as they work toward certification, according to the announcement. MTSU said the partnership also provides discounted equipment for the department, which plans to explore extending access to training and equipment in additional courses.

The company opened that office in spring 2026, MTSU said.
