Middle Tennessee State University theatre students will perform an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” Nov. 5-8 at Tucker Theatre in Murfreesboro, MTSU said in an announcement.

The production, titled “The Tragedy of Macbeth: Party of Cruelty,” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 5-7, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at 615 Champion Way, according to MTSU. Tickets cost $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $6 for children, the university said. Tickets are available online or at the box office before each performance, MTSU said.

MTSU said students, faculty and staff may receive one free ticket at the box office on the night of the show with a valid student ID. The university said late entry will not be allowed after the box office closes.

The university said the production, adapted by David Wilkerson, places the story in a shadowed cemetery and combines Shakespeare’s verse with a Halloween atmosphere. MTSU warned that the show includes choreographed violence, suicide and death, and recommended it for audiences ages 14 and older.
