The City of Murfreesboro is accepting nominations through Oct. 30 for its Legacy Recognition Program, which honors retired city employees for their contributions to Murfreesboro, according to the city’s announcement. The selection committee considers eligible candidates for recognition in the fall, the city said.
The city said nominees must have been fully retired for at least two years, unless the selection committee approves an exception. They must also have completed at least 20 years of continuous city service or 30 years of combined service and have left city employment in good standing, according to the announcement. Nominees may be living or deceased, the city said.
Residents, current employees, former employees and fellow retirees may submit nominations, the city said. The announcement lists an online nomination form and a downloadable form as submission options.
The city said inductees are permanently honored on the Wall of City Legacies in the Rotunda of City Hall, and each receives a commemorative award. Ten retired city employees were selected for induction in the program’s inaugural year, according to the announcement.
For information, the announcement lists the City of Murfreesboro at 111 West Vine Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130, and phone number 615-893-5210.
