Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro was included in recent national college rankings from Forbes and Money, the university said in an announcement published Nov. 4. MTSU was one of four public institutions in Tennessee on Forbes’ 2027 list of the 500 Top Colleges in the United States, according to the announcement.
MTSU also appeared in Money’s Best Colleges Profile, among five Tennessee public institutions included on the magazine’s annual list, the university said. Forbes’ ranking considers average student debt, return on investment, enrollment and outcomes for low-income students, while Money evaluates acceptance rates, net price, graduation rates and salary outcomes, according to MTSU.
Forbes cited MTSU programs in music production, aerospace, business, education, the sciences and liberal arts, as well as its Department of Recording Industry and Grammy wins by former students and alumni, the university said.
MTSU also said it was included in the Princeton Review’s 2027 Best Colleges in the U.S. for the eighth consecutive year and received recognition from U.S. News & World Report and Colleges of Distinction.
