Middle Tennessee State University Athletics said the Blue Raiders defeated Kennesaw State 3-0 in a women’s soccer match Sunday, Oct. 25, in Kennesaw, Georgia, with Hannah Murphy scoring all three goals. The announcement said the match began at 2 p.m. and the win lifted MTSU to 9-5-4 overall and 2-3-2 in Conference USA, placing the team fifth in the conference.

According to the university, Murphy scored in the 10th minute on a free-kick cross that deflected off a defender, converted a penalty kick at the hour mark and completed her hat trick in the 79th minute on an assist from Ania Denham. The announcement said it was the first hat trick by a Conference USA player in 2026 and Murphy’s eighth goal of the season.

MTSU outshot Kennesaw State 18-11 and had nine shots on goal to the Owls’ five, the university reported. Goalkeeper Ella Sellers made five saves, recording her fifth shutout of 2026 and 10th career shutout, according to the announcement.

The university said MTSU will host Western Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m. at Dean A. Hayes for its regular-season finale and senior night. MTSU could clinch a place in the 2026 Conference USA women’s soccer championship depending on the final matchweek results, the announcement said.
