Middle Tennessee State University Athletics said the Blue Raiders beat Florida International University 26-23 in Miami on Tuesday, Oct. 20, improving their record to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in Conference USA.

According to the athletics announcement, running back Terrence Brown Jr. rushed for a career-high 158 yards on 18 carries and added 25 receiving yards, giving him 183 all-purpose yards. His 54-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put MTSU ahead for good, the announcement said.

The announcement said kicker Dominic Bourgeois made all four of his field-goal attempts, including two from at least 50 yards. He became the first Blue Raider to make two field goals of 50 yards or longer in one game, and his three such kicks this season set an MTSU single-season record, according to the university. MTSU also forced three turnovers, the announcement said.

The Blue Raiders’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, against Kennesaw State at Floyd Stadium, the university said. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Central, with the game scheduled to air on CBS Sports Network and a radio broadcast on WGNS, according to the announcement.
